Each card offers a gentle prompt to support children when they’re feeling overwhelmed, need some space, or want to refocus their energy. The cards can be:

Drawn or chosen by a child when they need a calm-down idea.

Used by adults to guide children through big emotions or calming moments.
More than one strategy can be used in a session — children often find new favourites as they explore.
It’s recommended that adults model and teach each strategy first, or work through them alongside the child during the first few uses.

The cards/strategies can be introduced at any age above 1 year. (the creator has used these strategies with her own children from 12 months + by initially modelling to the young ones and then introducing the strategies in bits to suit the age).
